Despite all amenities, the cost of living is much lower compared to other Panamanian cities. This is likely to change in the following years though, since the economic activity of David is growing fast.

Center for the region David is officially called San José de David and is the economic and financial center for the whole area of the Chiriquí Province. From this town all the provinces’ produce is transported to the rest of Panama and beyond.

The main goods being exported are: coffee, wood, cacao, cattle, sugar, vegetables and fruit. The town is also favored for its wide variety of café’s, restaurants and shopping possibilities. Add to this the bustling nightlife and one can see why so many like David.
